Advanced Wound Care
Advanced wound care includes film and foam dressings, hydrogels, alginates, and hydrocolloids. Such products are largely focused on keeping the wound hydrated to encourage healing, following the philosophy that a moist microenvironment promotes the natural healing process.
Acute and Chronic Wounds
Acute wounds progress through the normal stages of wound healing and show definite
signs of healing within four weeks, while chronic wounds do not progress normally through the stages of healing (often getting ‘stalled’ in one phase) and do not show evidence of healing within four weeks.
Diabetic Foot Screening
A diabetic foot ulcer is an open sore or wound that occurs in approximately 15 percent of patients with diabetes and is commonly located on the bottom of the foot.
